It is possible that an mustache disappear during a marathon contest?
In September 1991, Tehama Abbes Algerian runner finished first, long before the other participants of the marathon in Brussels. Spectators were observed but something strange: he seemed to be fattened during the race and his mustache was gone. It was later discovered that, in fact, his coach had run the ten miles then changed shirt contest number Tehama, waiting hidden behind a tree. Abbes was disqualified.
"In my life I have witnessed such an incident at an international competition," said an official of the International Athletics Federation, obviously he had forgotten or never heard of Red Ruiz, a runner who, like Tehama, tried frame to victory in the Boston Marathon in 1980. Deception came out when they watched videotapes of the competition, proving that Rosie does not pass through checkpoints.
During the publicity created around the event, Boston Globe Magazine has brought to public attention hoax story in the 20s, in a competition pass by swimming the English Channel. Like Ruiz, the woman who crossed a lot of distance with a boat alleged to finish getting a new record, but canceled after detailed investigations.
